Community Champion Recognition Initiative

Armstrong, Celebrate Your Community Champions!

Dear Armstrong Members,

It's time to shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes among us - the individuals who tirelessly dedicate their time and effort to make Armstrong Mt. Duneed a better place.

These individuals may not be in the spotlight on a grand scale, but their dedication, kindness, and willingness to contribute to the well-being of the Armstrong community make them Community Champions in their own right.

They remind us that even small acts of service and leadership can have a profound impact on our community's quality of life. They are the heart and soul of our neighbourhood, embodying the spirit of unity and service, and they're the reason we are excited to introduce the Armstrong Community Champion Recognition Initiative.

What Does Being a Community Champion Entail?

Here are just a few examples of who a Community Champion can be:

Dedicated Community Organiser: An individual who consistently volunteers their time to plan, coordinate, and execute community events, sporting activities, or even playgroups and get-togethers for both kids and adults.

Empowering Mentor: Someone who serves as a mentor and role model, inspiring others to get involved in community service and leadership roles.

Inclusive Community Helping Hand: A selfless neighbour who lends a helping hand babysitting, walking your dog, dropping food off at times of need or even just keeping an eye on your house and taking in your mail while you’re away.

How to Nominate

It's easy to nominate your champion! Simply click on the link below and fill out the brief nomination form.

Tell us why your nominee deserves recognition, and let's celebrate their contributions together!

Nominations close on Wednesday 30th September, so don't miss the opportunity to celebrate the unsung heroes in our midst.

What Happens Next

Once nominations have closed, all eligible nominees will be included in a community-wide vote, giving Armstrong residents the opportunity to help elect the Community Champion.

The nominated Community Champion will then be honoured at a recognition event in November, where we will come together to celebrate their contribution and positive impact on the community.
